We’ve added support for Lacrosse to Redzone. If you or somebody you know has a Lacrosse league, sign up and check it out.
Quick update to hockey; we’ve added support for +/- stats as well.
Redzone Updates: Multiple positions and Team statistics
November 6th, 2009
We’ve just deployed some major updates to Redzone’s statistics. These include support for multiple positions as well as team related statistics in addition to the player statistics that were only supported before.
We’ve added new statistics to some of the sports, so you check for those in the “Statistics Management” section of the admin dashboard. If there are statistics that you don’t see, but would like to see added then just send us an email at support@redzoneleagues.com and let us know what additional stats you would like to see.
The game cards haven’t been updated to support the addition of multiple positions yet, but this will be supported in an upcoming release. If your league doesn’t track stats for more than one position then you’ll be fine with the current game cards.
We’ve made some changes to the standings calculations. Points can now be awarded to teams for Overtime losses. This is a common theme in hockey where shootouts occur.
The forums display a users profile picture (avatar) along with their post count.
Other minor changes and fixes have been made as well and we have a few more quick updates coming in the next few weeks; mainly the addition of some new statistics.
Since this is fairly large update, there may be some minor issues that may appear, so if you notice any inconsistencies or issues with any of the statistic values, please let us know and we’ll correct the issues as soon as we can. You can do so by posting a message in our forums or by sending us an email.
Player data and OT Pts
January 7th, 2009
Two new features have been added to Redzone.
- You can now download your player data from the admin users page. The file can be imported into a spreadsheet and formatted however you see fit.
- A new overtime win point setting has been added along with the other point settings which are available from the admin dashboard.
Redzone Update
December 20th, 2008
Just a quick note to mention some small updates recently made to Redzone…
- Division Stats - You can now view the stats for an entire division. The default it still the top 10 for all divisions, but if you’re looking for an extended list of stats, you now have that option.
- Allow multiple contacts - This is a really minor change, but before you couldn’t add a user more than once on the contact page, but now you can.
- Division email - An additional email option has been added to the teams page. You can now send an email to an entire division if required. (This is only accessible to administrators)
Team Roster Enhancements
October 19th, 2008
It’s been a little while since our last feature update post, but we’ve recently added a couple of new enhancements to the team rosters.
Player number support has now been added. An administrator or team contact can enter in player numbers for their team and these will appear on the team page and will also automatically appear on game score cards.
The second addition is the ability to “disable” a player on a team. An administrator or team captain may want to do this if a player no longer plays on a team or have been “traded” to another team, etc. Disabled players are removed from the team email messages as well as the list of eligible players for a game when entering stats.
Both of these features are only available to the league administrator and the team contact. Simply press the “Edit Roster” button at the bottom of the page for a specific team and you will have the options to specify the player numbers as well as enabling and disabling players using the checkboxes beside each player.
Redzone News & Forum RSS Feeds
August 13th, 2008
We’ve added RSS feeds for news items as well as each forum that you create for your league. There’s also a feed for all of the forums combined. See your browsers docs and/or use your favourite RSS reader to make use of them.
Enjoy!
Kickball (Soccer Baseball) Support

Statistics Management Feature
March 24th, 2008
We've recently added the ability to customize the stats you use in your league.
Not every league tracks the same stats, so instead of cluttering up the interface with stats your league doesn't use, you can now remove them. Or if you would like to add some additional stats to the defaults provided, you can add stats from any of the predefined stats that are available.
To add or remove stats, click on the "Manage Statistics" link from the admin dashboard.
If there are some stats missing that you would like to add to your league, simply contact us via the support link and we'll do our best to add them.
Ultimate (Frisbee) Support
March 24th, 2008
Redzone Leagues has recently added Ultimate as a supported sport. Currently by default, no stats are tracked, but if you have an Ultimate league that does track some stats, let us know and we can add those to the site for you to use.
Improved Player Signup with New Team Requests
December 1st, 2007
In our constant effort to make the registration process easier, we’ve added an additional feature to Redzone Leagues to allow a player to request a spot on a teams roster.
The way the original process worked was that a team captain would create their team and then manually add each player to the roster themselves. This works, and still works, but issues can occur when a captain doesn’t know a players name, or a user hasn’t registered yet in order for them to be added to the roster. If a user hasn’t registered then a captain would have to wait for a user to signup and then that user would have to notify the captain via email, phone, in person, etc. that they’ve registered and can now be added to the team roster… and this is where the signup process can become a bit too much work.
To improve the signup process, a registered user would now find their team (which must already be registered by their captain) and simply click a link on the teams profile page to request to add themselves to the teams roster. Once a request is made, the team captain will receive an email notifying them of the request. The captain will then visit their team page to view the request (along with any other outstanding requests) and with a click of the mouse, can either approve or reject the player for the team.
Enjoy!
Game Card Feature
November 13th, 2007
A game card feature has just been added to Redzone Leagues. The game card is used to help a referee, statistician, etc. to keep track of game stats for individual players during a game. Any game that has not been assigned a score will now display a link to a printable game card.
The game card contains the date, time, location, team names and rosters along with team colours and sections for game time-outs and scores.
This feature is aimed at providing something useful to as many leagues as possible, but may be missing some information for other leagues. If you feel something is missing or there are some problems that you are experiencing using the game cards, please leave a comment or post a message to the forum

New Forum Moderator Role
July 18th, 2007
Along with the existing user roles (league administrator, statistician, scheduler), we’ve now added a new user role for forum moderation. Any user assigned to this role has the ability to edit and delete users forum messages.
Previously a user had to be assigned the league administrator role to have the same abilities, which gave a user full control over all of the websites functions, which is not necessarily a safe option.
Moderate away!
Redzone Google Maps Integration
June 16th, 2007
Location management has just been made easier with integrated Google maps.
You no longer need to upload an image for your fields, locations, etc. Enter the address of the location and we’ll find it for you (with the help of Google of course).
By clicking on map markers you can view the locations name, address and any other associated information.
You can find out more about the new location manager on the features page.
If you have comments, suggestions on this feature, please post a message in our forums, we’d love to hear from you.

Messaging Feature
April 27th, 2007
A new messaging feature has been added to Redzone, which allows a message to be sent to a groups of users in one easy step.
The current groups that are defined are:- An administrator can send a message to all users.
- An administrator can send a message to all team captains.
- Team members can message their team mates.
- Users can message each other.
Currently the messaging feature sends all messages out as emails, but a future update will integrate the messages directly into the site where all sent and received messages can be viewed directly within the website.
Check out our feature page for some screenshots.
